Weekend Wrap Up

I was looking forward to this weekend for sometime. I had actual party plans!!! w00t!

My girlfriend Jessie came over from the West Coast of Florida to spend the weekend in Fort Lauderdale. Her friend from grade school was here for a conference, so she decided to make a weekend of it. I've known Jessie for 7 years and we've always had a blast together. This weekend would be no different.

Friday Jessie and I heading north to Palm Beach Gardens to eat lunch at our favorite reminder of Arizona...The Yardhouse!!! I miss that place. I used to go there all the time when I lived in Glenview and was stoked to find out there was a location north of me as well as several in the Phoenix area.

Saturday was beach day!!! Even though the day started out with rain, the skies cleared up pretty quickly. I am guessing that the local colleges/universities are done because the beach was packed like spring break!! Lots of fun stuff to point and laugh at. Apparently wearing full face make up PLUS fake eyelashes are the thing to do now-a-days.

This guy was right in front of us towards the end. He was a real treat. His 'swimsuit' looked to be made out of plush velvet. Winner! He looked like a post plastic surgery but less haggard version of Mickey Rourke.



Jessie thought it would be fun to hold on to a palm tree and pretend the excessive winds were taking her away.

Later that evening my friend Missi joined Jessie, her friend Kate and myself for some 3-4-1 action at Grumpy Gators...that's right THREE FOR ONE DRINKS!!

After Grumpy Gators, we headed to a beach bar called Bahi Cabana. They had live music and it was pretty good. Hypnotic was there giving out lots of free booze and that was nice. We were feeling pretty good, and that's where these photos came from. I'm not sure what song we're dancing too. I know it's not the YMCA, it sure looks like it.

We all have major sun lines on our faces from the sunglasses. I lost my sunglasses in the ocean by the killer waves :(

It was a great night. I ended up heading home early because I needed to pass out ASAP! I can't hang as well as I used to. Sad!

I forgot to mention that I got screwed big time on the beach. I wore the wrong pair of shoes out for the evening. On the walk to Bahi Cabana I decided that buying a pair of flip flops at one of the beach shops would be a great idea.

I ended up buying a pair of crappy flip flops for 40 bucks! Idiots. I woke up this morning with major buyers remorse...and I never get buyers remorse. I am going to wear the hell out of these ugo shoes and get my money worth!
